LUSU Smashes the National Student Survey 2026!

The results from the National Student Survey are in and once again LUSU has recorded a great result for student satisfaction.

All final year undergraduate students were asked to complete the survey and feedback on their experience at Lancaster. 2583 (69.3) of eligible students completed the survey this year.

Amongst many questions about academic experience, participants were also asked question 25: “How well does the students’ union (association or guild) represent students’ academic interests?”.

To this question, 70.6% responded “Very well” or “Well”. This represents a +5% increase on 2025, and a +13% increase on 2023.

We are delighted that students have yet again demonstrated their increasing trust in their Students’ Union via the National Student Survey this year. We will continue to work workingwork closely with our Student Academic Reps and listen to our students to ensure we are doing what’s right for them. Whatever your course, or year of study, the Students’ Union exists to represent you and works to improve your experience of university.

Here are some examples of some of our work on the academic experience over the last few months:

  • We’ve been campaigning on the study spaces available for research students

  • We’re working to make timetabling better

  • We’re collaborating with the University on a new Inclusive Education Practice Policy

  • Our representatives in BLS have had an amazing year

If you are interested in getting involved, we’ll be recruiting new Student Academic Reps at the start of Michaelmas Term.
