Full Time Officers
The Union is led by a team of six Full Time Executive Officers: President, Vice President Union Development, Vice President Education, Vice President Activities, Vice President Campaigns & Communications and Vice President Welfare & Community. These are either students who have just graduated or are taking a year out from their studies.
Each of the eight Undergraduate Colleges has a JCR Executive. Every college is slightly different in the roles they have on their JCR but all of them have a president; at least one vice president; welfare officers, social sectaries, communications officers and two sports representatives. Members of their own college elect these student officers in Michaelmas term.
Cross Campus Officers
Your Cross Campus Officers are elected to represent you on a variety of university issues. There are ten officers overall: Charity; Welfare; Democracy; Media & Communications; Education; Socials, International; LQBTQ*; Environmental & Ethics and Activities. These officers are elected across the University in Summer term.
The Postgraduate Board are the elected representative body for all members of the Graduate College, including students who live off campus. The Board has 11 members: the Chair; the Graduate College Residents’ Representative; the Sports Representative; four Postgraduate Research Faculty Reps (one from each Faculty); and four Postgraduate Taught Faculty Reps (again with one from each Faculty). The Postgraduate Board aims to meet the needs of all postgraduate students, including academic, sporting, social, employability, and accommodation issues. The Board holds open forums each term for all PGR and PGT students to discuss issues affecting their study and time at Lancaster University. Members of Graduate college elect members of the board in week three Michaelmas term.
