Still in Lancaster during the summer break? Then head along to the sports centre on Sunday July 31 for an afternoon of free sporting activities!

The centre is marking its fifth anniversary the Sport Lancaster Family Fun Day, which takes place from noon to 4pm.

All ages and abilities can get stuck into a variety of free have-a-go sessions such as tennis, football, cricket and climbing, as well as bubble football, aqua splash, indoor athletics and much more. 

The day will also include delicious food, face painting, a bouncy castle, games and friendly competitions which will help raise funds for the North West Air Ambulance charity.

Lancaster University Head of Sport Kim Montgomery said: “In 2011 Lancaster University opened a brand new £20m Sports Centre featuring the latest range in sporting facilities. Our team wanted to use this milestone as an opportunity to celebrate the success of the last five years and give families the opportunity to enjoy a day of being active together. We have lots to offer and to show off the great facilities on Lancaster’s doorstep, whilst raising money for a great cause.”
