Members of our Exodus team saved a huge amount of unwanted items from going to waste from Graduate College over the weekend.

With a significant number of postgrad students leaving their accommodation last week, it was a great opportunity for the team to rescue unwanted items and save them from landfill.

The items are being by the Exodus team and will be donated to a range of charities.

Over 39 tonnes of waste have been collected by the Exodus team so far this summer.

Exodus team member Tom Ankers said: "Each year the Exodus project receives an incredible amount of donations that are brand-new or unopened. While the project helps to prevent any of these items going to landfill, it would be even better if these unused donations had not been bought at all. This year, we are encouraging students to think about what items are essential for university life, and what items they could talk to flatmates about sharing rather than buying individually."
