Easter Get Giving - EGG

Criminology student Emily Clymer wants to see you get charitable this Easter and rather than giving an Easter Egg, give time or money to a cause.

Emily approached us with the idea to encourage people to give back and donate the money they might spend on an Easter Egg to charity or donate some time to a cause. Emily said, ‘Even something as small as making a flatmate a cup of tea or coffee, the smallest act of giving back is what I want to encourage.

Giving at Easter isn’t something new to Emily, “When my brother and I were younger we wanted to give money to charity, and it was suggested by my mum that Oxfam unwrapped may be a great way to do this as we could select what we were giving see directly where the money was going.”

Emily has continued this tradition, not always opting for large charities, often choosing local causes, “For this year I'm thinking of The Wiltshire Tortoise trust or a domestic violence/ women's aid charity after being exposed to the work women's aid do in criminology lectures.”

Why not take on the giving spirit this year and get involved with LUSU Gives?
