What I Do and How can I be of help?

My role is to actively lead the political leadership of the Union. It is my duty to make sure the Union is actively engaging, representing and responding to all our members. My position means that I make decisions on both a Union and University level, which will always take the interests and necessities of our students into account. Essentially it is my job to listen to ideas and opinions from our membership and then lead the Union in the direction that students would like it to go.

What do you hope to achieve with your year in office?

I aim to make sure the Union is making long-term decisions in the best interests of all students. A few key aims from my manifesto were to review the make-up of the Sabbatical team in order to make sure we are best representing all groups of students at Lancaster University and that students can effectively be heard on issues which concern them. I also aim to set up a Sabbatical Question Time event, which would allow all students the opportunity to hold their full-time officers to account. It is vital that the Union continues to portray itself to the University and surrounding community as mature, forward-thinking and responsible. However we must also not be afraid of change; after all change is the only thing that is constant.
