This is part of a campaign for a modern abortion law because 2007 is the 40th Anniversary year of the 1967 Abortion Act. This year marks the start of the campaign ‘Pro-choice Majority’, which is calling for an abortion law fit for the 21st century.

The campaign is calling for a law which trusts women to make the right decision about whether or not to continue her pregnancy. Specifically, asking for the following:

Abortion on request, at least in the first three months

An end to waiting times of longer than three weeks

An end to attacks on current rights, specifically the upper time-limit
