Join us on a trip to Edinburgh where you will have the opportunity to visit the castle, enjoy the stunning views perched on the battlement, walk the Royal Mile and delve into the shops, cafes and various museums/art galleries or sites of interest along the way. Perhaps you would like to do a bit of whisky tasting or find the tartan that suits your eyes or historical family roots? Or you could sit in the cafe where Harry Potter was formed in JK Rowlings’ mind as she sampled her morning coffee and, to round things off, you can just sit in the park listening to men in skirts playing their pipes and posing for the tourists!
We will leave early (at 7am) from the Chaplaincy in order to get a decent time in the City and we will return leaving Edinburgh at 6pm.Tickets £14 from the online store

The Carter Shield is the main inter-college sporting competition, where all college compete in bi-weekly leagues and individual events. Everyone and anyone can compete whether you’ve played before or not. Don’t worry if you’ve never played before there is a taster session at the start of the year! There’s of loads of sports to be played and it’s a great way to try new sports and give anything a try! Fylde needs you to maintain our sporting glory!

11 a.m. Coaches will leave Pendle Avenue
12.30p.m The Walk will begin from Arnside
The walk will be led by Cedric Robinson – the Queen’s sand pilot for Morecambe Bay. 8 miles in total
We should arrive in Kent’s Bank at approximately 3.30p.m. where you will be met by a coach with a toilet on board. (NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE COACH)
At Kent’s Bank you will be given a drink and a sandwich
You will also be given a carrier bag to cover your shoes so that you don’t dirty the coach.
You will then return to Pendle Avenue by about 5 p.m./ 5.30.Tickets are on sale from Barbara Glass. Grizedale College Office, A07 Grizedale College Foyer

You should wear old trainers on your feet (the sand and salt ruin your shoes) and take a small hand towel to dry yourself off after crossing the rivers.

This week you’re in for a treat. We’ve invited Rudimental, a drum and bass quartet who have had top singles such as “Feel the Love”, “Not giving in” and most recently “Waiting all Night” to do a DJ Set in our very own house of sugar.
