Safety In Societies
Student societies are affiliated to LUSU which means they are supported by LUSU in making their activities safe to take part in. LUSU takes health and safety very seriously and has created several safety documents which the execs must follow.
Each of the high and medium risk societies also have their own code of practice which they have created with advice from LUSU. This document presents a collection of procedures which the execs and the members must follow so that the activities take place in a safe way. When you join a society you agree to abide by the societies code of practice and constitution. Below are the codes of practice for all the high and medium risk societies:
If you would like more information on health and safety and how it affects the society you are in please contact your society exec. All the above societies have a Safety Officer who is dedicated to health and safety and should be able to answer your questions.
