Who we are
Our team of staff are dedicated to helping students make the most of their time at University, through creating unique volunteering opportunities for students to engage with. We aim to produce high quality projects that benefit our students and the community and to improve student’s skills, enhance their student experience and progress their employability.
Our schools partnership team helps students to engage with local pre-schools, colleges, primary and secondary schools through volunteering placements, projects and events.
The community team runs projects with local community organisations, making the most of the skills, passions and experiences of Lancaster University students to assist them in their day to day actions and to develop new activities and events.
In terms of environmental volunteering, through our regional and national partnerships, students can volunteer with environmental and conservation organisations to develop teamwork skills and enhance their career prospects.
We have a range of activities volunteering opportunities for the campus events that we run across the academic year, which can range from planning and developing events to supporting our Roses competition; the largest inter varsity in Europe.
We have established close collaborations with academic departments, community organisations and local schools to create bespoke projects that have clear benefits for all parties. If you are interested in getting involved in any of the opportunities above, please clink on the relevant web page or get in contact with our team. If you are already a volunteer you’ll find useful information in the My Union pages If you are a school or community organisation and would like to work with us, please read the following information:
If you would like student volunteers to support activities at your school, or if you would like to hold an activity day on campus with our volunteers and staff, then please contact Carla Lockwood to discuss how we can support your ideas. We work with pupils of all ages and abilities and can offer fun, engaging and educational events both on campus and in school on a regular or one-off basis.
