How do I get a LUSU card?

You can buy a basic Red card for free of charge, if purchased from the computers in the foyer of the LUSU building, or for £1 from any other computer. You can also buy a Purple card, which costs from £10 (when purchased for multiple years) online. These can be picked up from the Information Desk between 10am and 6.45pm Monday to Friday, and between 11am and 5pm Saturday.

You will need a Purple card if you intend to join any clubs or societies or if you wish to receive any of the special discounts or promotional offers.

Once you have either a Purple or Red card you can also purchase an NUS Xtra card, by following the link in the email LUSU will send you once you have purchased a LUSU card.

What is the difference between a Purple and Red LUSU card?

A Purple card costs from £10 (when purchased for multiple years) and enables you to join clubs and societies. You will also receive promotional/special offers and discounts throughout the terms.

If you think you do not need this type of card you can ask for a Red card to enable you to use LUSU's online services. If you get a Red card and then wish to upgrade to a Purple card, this can be done online.

If I am on placement how do I get an NUS/LUSU card?

You can purchase a new card online, which can then be posted to your placement address.

Do I have to get a new card each year?

You will be able to choose whether you buy a card each year, for £12.50; or you can buy a card that will last until you graduate for only £10 per year, with no hassle of renewing each year.

What happens if I lose my LUSU card?

You can get a replacement online for £2.50.

What happens if I lose my NUS Xtra card ?

You can get a replacement card online.
