Build It Right

We need your help again.

In October we asked you to sign objections to the building of new student accommodation around Sugarhouse.

In December we were disappointed to see the council approve plans to go ahead with the build despite numerous objections placed by the student body and residents of Lancaster, questions over the design and concerns for the welfare of potential residents of these flats.

However the plans were approved with conditions, one being the need to undertake pre-occupation noise monitoring on the new building. This was good news for us. Now the developer of the building has requested that this condition be removed.

This is where you come in. We need you to sign to object to removing this condition. Just because you may have gone home for the summer, just because graduated last week or 20 years ago, just because you weren’t listened to the first time around, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have your say and be heard this time. When this plan was approved it was under the condition they would build it right. Now it’s time for the Lancaster City Council to keep to their word and require the developer to prove they can build it right.
