Students ran an exciting and educational week designed to educate children about a wide variety of topics, with a big focus on human rights.

Teach Week, run as part of our Schools Volunteering programme, involved a group of 20 students who put together interactive sessions that brought their topics to life.

One of the main projects, run in association with Lancaster charity Global Link and campaign group Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary to educate children about the global refugee crisis.

The project included giving children chance to meet a refugee housed locally.

Children had the opportunity to ask questions and wrote messages of welcome to refugees due to arrive in the coming months.

The messages were hung on a white tree to symbolise how refugees help to grow the community.

As well as teaching students about the refugee crisis and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, other topic areas explored by the week included Shakespeare and business & enterprise.
