A student has been awarded a two-month internship in China thanks to taking part in a LUSU Overseas trip.

Vanessa Azeem travelled to China with the students' union in September 2015, and was able to use the experience she gained to secure a chance to return to the country on a British Council scholarship. 

She said: "My trip with LUSU Overseas gave me the Chinese experience I needed to obtain this competitive scholarship, and so I would just like to thank the LUSU Overseas team for providing such excellent opportunities for students.

"I think the union's programmes are fantastic and I know my experience in China with LUSU Overseas will play a big part in my future. It is doing already!"

The union offers travel opportunities to numerous countries at various times of the year.
