Student movie-makers from LU Film Production Society premiered six pieces at a recent showcase event at Lancaster's Duke's Theatre.

Around 100 people were there to see the six short films written, directed and produced by students in the last year.

Society president Jamie Mills said: "Thanks to the support of the students' union we were able to hold our event at The Dukes for the first time. This was a fantastic experience for the society, and contributed to a really wonderful evening.

"All of the films were warmly received, and are now online where they have each attracted 100s of views.

"We also said goodbye to our exec - who'd all been involved in the society near-enough since its inception, and welcomed in our new exec who are beginning to plan for the films to present at next year's showcase!"
