New SCAN editor Laura Wilkinson and associate editor Chris Bickley (pictured) are getting their first edition of the student newspaper ready for publication during Welcome Week.

Laura was elected editor last term, having spent last academic year as the title's news editor. Chris was one of the sport editors last year and was behind organising SCAN's comprehensive coverage of the 2016 Roses sporting tournament.

SCAN's team of writers and photographers have spent the summer vacation preparing content for the Welcome Week edition, and the paper will be published regularly during term time throughout the year.

Look out for copies of the paper on newsstands around campus from Monday of Welcome Week.
