Holi

Our international societies are organising three great events on campus this week, giving everyone the chance to enjoy an insight into the diverse cultures that form the university community.

On Wednesday 1 March Culture Society hosts Global Village in Alexandra Square.

It’s an event designed to help connect students from all around the world and promote the cultural vibrancy of our university. Various societies will have stalls where you'll be able to try food from places like Taiwan and Bulgaria or have your name or a meaningful message transcribed into Korean or Chinese calligraphy!

The event takes place from noon to 4pm.

Then on Saturday the Indian Society marks Holi festival with a special event called RANG.

The word ‘RANG’ means colour and the event, held near the Duck Pond, will include a massive colour and water fight as well as Indian street food and Bollywood music - the photo above shows students enjoying last year's event

See the Facebook event for more details and ticket info.

Also on Saturday, the Bruneian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai and Vietnamese Societies are collaborating to bring you the ultimate ASEAN Games 2017!

A fun and challenging series of games and puzzles will be stretched across the campus, giving teams the chance to solve a mystery. The event will be an opportunity to meet new people from different parts of South East Asia as participants will be grouped with a mix of members from different societies.
