Showcase nah

It’s a highlight of the Lancaster University Students’ Union calendar, an evening packed with music, poetry and dancing. It's bright, it's loud and it's not to be missed. We are of course talking about the International Cultural Exchange Showcase.

The day is spent in preparation, with students from visiting campuses splitting off into teams to learn new skills which will prepare them to run social media, manage stage lighting and sound, film on LA1:TV, broadcast on Bairligg FM, decorate the room and design and print posters and programmes for the evening.  And of course there is a lot of practice for the performances.

At 7.30pm, the stage was lit, the music on and the hosts for the night enter stage right. What followed was a night of fantastic performances showcasing some karaoke-style singing at times but also traditional singing and dancing from students visiting from Pakistan, India, Malaysia, China and Ghana.

If you missed out on the night don’t worry, we took lots of photos and LA1:TV filmed the night so you can watch it all back here!

We are already excited for next year!
