This term will see the launch of the first annual Lancaster University’s Intercollegiate Debating Championships! This reinvention of a traditional Lancaster competition has been made possible through the nine Colleges collaborating with Lancaster Debating Union and promises to be one of the biggest college events of the year!

Each College is invited to put forward a team of 6 people, three taking the role of researchers and three speakers. Not only is this a huge chance to win college pride and get your college name etched onto the trophy but you will also:

•          Develop your presentation and negotiation skills
•          Improve your public speaking ability and confidence
•          Learn how to access the best of university resources
•          Enhance your CV  
•          Meet new people

 

Each member of the winning team will also win Amazon vouchers worth £50 each!! And, the winning team will be cordially invited to be VIPs at Lancaster Debating Unions 1st Guest Speaker Debate of the year!

No previous experience is necessary, indeed the Debating Union will be offering training sessions and workshops ahead of the competition to help everyone get some practice and advice before competing.
