PhD Student, LUSU Crew member and former LA1:TV station manager Chris Osborn has been awarded Extraordinary Student of the Year award 2016 by Lancaster University Chancellor, Alan Milburn.

Also winner of the Sir Christian Bonington Outstanding Achievement Award in 2012, Chris picked up the award at the Bowland College Graduation ceremony. Described as ‘the person that makes things happen’, Chris was noted for his hard work on the campus music scene, tech work and developmental work in student media.  Never put off by a challenge, in 2012 Chris took on the task of producing a ‘Later With Jools Holland’-style event in the Great Hall, a live Sound Booth Sessions, which later became a series of recorded shows and in 2015 Chris played a huge role in LA1:TV joint-hosting the NaSTA awards.

This is just to name a few of his many achievements and the hard work he has done in shaping the student experience at Lancaster.

Lancaster University Students’ Union wouldn’t be the same without Chris and we are incredibly grateful for all of his hard work and dedication over the last 8 years.
