Student staff helping us on the Exodus recycling project have been visiting the charities we've been working with this summer.

Each year our student teams tour the campus gathering unwanted items left behind by students and sorting them for distribution to charity.

Last year more than 35 tonnes of household items were recycled, and the team expects to prevent even more waste from going to landfill this year.

More than half of the items recovered so far have been donated to the International Aid Trust, with other beneficiaries including Morecambe Bay Foodbank, Age UK Lancashire and Animal Care Lancaster.

This week, the Exodus project team are out visiting some the charity partners to find out what happens to all the Lancaster University donations after they leave campus.
