Ever wanted to run your own restaurant? Show off your cooking skills? Learn more about how to run a business?

Monday to Thursday of Week 6 will see 4 different student groups take over The Deli and run it as a restaurant of their choosing! They will be competing to see who can make the most successful pop-up restaurant with the prize of the profit they make and a local restaurant voucher for each member of the winning team! We already have three teams signed up so you could be our forth competitor if you fancy yourself as an entrepreneur or just love food and would like to learn about the business side. It will be an intense experience but will give you experience in marketing, project planning, budget writing and running a business – all of which will be very impressive to a future employer!

All you need to take part is to have at least four people in your team and to be free for the competition launch event 5pm-8pm on 2nd November. Each group will be given a small start-up grant enough to run a simple food business, though innovative approaches to increasing your starting amount are encouraged! You will also be given workshops, mentors and support to help you plan your finances, design your menu and promote your night!

If you would like to take our last spot in the week then please get in touch with g.balis@lancaster.ac.uk

This competition has been made possible because of the brilliant offer from The Deli so a huge thanks to them and is happening as part of the University’s wider ‘Make It Happen’ week, for more information on what else is happening that week please visit the website.
