Together We Can Do It

In late 2010, LUSU’s Executive and Trustee Board reviewed our Strategic Plan to see what we’d achieved on your behalf to date. Our Strategic Plan Review looked at the challenges we’d set ourselves and how far we’d got towards meeting and beating them. We’d made strong progress in many areas but in a few, priorities had changed and we had failed to make an impact.  Because of this, changes to Higher Education funding and the fact the plans only had a year left to run, in November 2010 our Trustee Board and the LUSU Council recommended that we should start drafting a new vision.

In February 2011 we asked nearly 2000 of you what you were concerned about, what you wanted from your Union and about ways in which it could get better.  We did this through research: surveys, forums and focus groups.We’ve reviewed this feedback, looked at the University’s feedback, and most importantly listened. Listened to what you’ve had to tell us about what’s good, bad and indifferent. Your aspirations and fears, praise and gripes. Full Time Officers and staff have digested it all to work out what it means for LUSU.

From this we’ve produced a new Strategic Plan 2011 . This will be the blueprint for what we do and concentrate on between now and 2014.  This has now been approved by both the LUSU Council and Trustee Board and its now down to you .
