All students studying degrees at Lancaster University either in the UK or across the world at our partner institutions are automatically our members though if you want to you have the ability to opt out.
As a Students’ Union we are a registered educational charity. We have a Board of Trustees to oversee key decision making that relates to the future of LUSU. The trustees have a responsibility to ensure that LUSU makes sound financial decisions, works within the law and works for the benefit for its memberss.
The political leadership of our Union comes from our elected officers, led by the President and team of 5 full time Vice Presidents. They are supported by a team of voluntary, part time officers who form the JCRs and Cross Campus Committee.
We are governed by LUSU Constitution 2011 and Bye Laws, which outline how we operate and what we do.
To find out more about what we have been doing you can read our Annual Report 2011/12 and what we aim to do via our Strategic Plan 2011. All will give you a flavour of what we’re all about.
